people表示“人们”，是复数形式 ， 故不能再加s构成复数 。它总是与复数动词连用：
Most people are basically honest. 大多数人基本是诚实的 。
People are dying of starvation every day. (不用…is dying) 每天都有人死于饥饿 。
people表示“种族”或“民族”时是可数的，可以用通常的方式加s构成复数：
the peoples of South East Asia东南亚各民族
persons非常正式，可用于譬如官方语言中：
He was murdered by a person or persons unknown. 他被不知姓名的人杀害了 。
也可见于正式公告：
This elevator may only carry eight persons. 本电梯限乘八人 。

（不能用persons, peoples）
（people是person的复数形式，泛指所有的人）
The police keep a list of missing persons.
警方存有一份失踪者的名单 。（persons为法律用语）
